Aarhus [Aug. 21st, 2007|12:48 pm]
Posting on LiveJournal? Are those toads falling from the sky? Must be Tuesday.

Yep, I'm here in Aarhus, Denmark for the week working on the synchotron in the University of Aarhus. At the moment, we're argon-bombarding our sample, which means we spend 20 minute periods surfing the net. Well, we could be doing important work on the net, but I am certainly surfing.

The keyboards in Denmark are funkadelic - the punctuation marks are all over the place, and there's crazy new letters and symbols, for typing in Danish. It's pretty cool, but a surprise when I started typing an email last night. I'm fairly used to it now - my finger just has to stretch farther over to get the apostrophe, instead of an O with a slash through it.

The weather is nice today, despite a lot of rain being forecast. Long may it last!

Well, my summer research project is finally finished. I've handed in my report and I'm done. I've just registered for the third year of college, actually, so I'm already looking to the future.

It was a great summer, frustrating at time, but hey. Hard to believe that this time last week we were in the middle of the presentations. How time flies! That day seems almost unreal now. Hmm.

So bye-bye UREKA project, and to all the friends I made, see you soon.

This is for Ti, who's sitting beside me RIGHT NOW making sure I update my LJ for the first time ever. Aw! Well, I'm in the middle of a research project for the summer right now, and at this very moment I am waiting for some nanoparticles to dry on Transmission Electron Microscope grids. It's a physics project, and I'm a physics student! Yay!
